EU Protected Food Names
Traditional British food and drink gets protection from poor-quality imitations under the EU’s Protected Food Name scheme. 36 British products are now protected in this way, ranging from Stilton to Cornish Clotted Cream. Protected Status ensures the traceability of a product right the way through its production, and ensures that time-honoured skills and recipes are preserved for future generations to enjoy.
